Are you gaslighting yourself?
Most of us are familiar with the term – gaslighting.
We know that it’s a type of emotional abuse where the abuser uses minimisation and manipulation so that the victim or person being abused starts to question their reality.
Many people think that only narcissists gaslight people, but in truth anyone could gaslight you. And sadly, after suffering a trauma or triggering situation, a lot of people inadvertently start to gaslight themselves.
How to silence your inner critic for good
Our Inner Critic is that niggling, nagging, negative voice in our heads that loves to judge, criticise and demean us. It often shows up when we are feeling vulnerable – we’ve made a mistake, we aren’t sure about our decision, or where we feel exposed or judged. AND worse – it keeps playing out those worst case scenarios over and over and over again in our head.
